Wallet PIN Security: 8 Rules to Keep Your Money Safe
Your wallet PIN is the last line of defence for your money. How to choose it, protect it, change it and respond if you think someone knows it.
Every Yapie wallet transfer needs your wallet PIN. Treat it like the key to your safe.
8 rules
1. **Avoid obvious PINs** — 1234, 0000, 1111, your birth year or phone digits. 2. **Use a different PIN** from your phone lock and bank card. 3. **Never share it** — not with friends, agents, or "support". Yapie staff will **never** ask. 4. **Cover the screen** when typing in public. 5. **Don't write it** on your phone case or in your notes app. 6. **Change it** if anyone might have seen it. 7. **Turn on two-step verification** so someone with your password still can't sign in. 8. **Check Wallet › History** regularly for transactions you don't recognise.Changing your PIN
Open **Wallet** and choose to change your **Wallet PIN**. You'll confirm the current PIN first. If someone knows your PIN
1. **Change it immediately.** 2. Check **Wallet › History** and report unknown transfers via **Settings › Help & support**. 3. End unknown sessions in **Settings › Devices** and change your password.Agents and your PIN
Agents never need your PIN. For cash-in, the agent sends you credit; for cash-out, you send the agent credit yourself.Frequently asked questions
