Yapie vs Telegram: Groups, Channels, Privacy and More

Telegram and Yapie have a lot in common: both keep regular chats in the cloud, both offer secret chats with end-to-end encryption, and both handle large groups and broadcast channels. The differences are in the details.

#Where they're alike

• Cloud sync: sign in on a new device and your chats are there.
• Secret chats with end-to-end encryption.
• Large groups and channels with admins, invite links and slow mode.
• Bots and API access for automation.
• Big file sharing — Yapie supports files up to 4 GB.

#Where Yapie is different

Spam and scams

A frequent Telegram complaint is being added to random groups or messaged by scam accounts. In Yapie, messages from people you don't know land in a separate **Requests** inbox with links disabled until you accept, and your privacy settings decide who can add you to groups — everyone else sends an invitation you can ignore.

Editing

Both apps let you edit messages. Yapie keeps the **full edit history** for the sender and lets you **restore any earlier version** with one tap.

Read receipts

Yapie shows two grey ticks for delivered and **two green ticks** for read — clear at a glance — and you can turn receipts off.

Never losing data

Beyond cloud sync, Yapie keeps a **recovery vault** of chats (including edits and deletions) and files. If you delete a chat by accident, support can restore it.

Work and money

Yapie includes **Yapie Work** — attendance with office geofences, approval workflows with audit logs, meetings and weekly reports — and a **wallet** for sending money in chats and cashing in or out through agents.

Discover

Yapie's **Discover** tab is a public feed with hashtags, topics and follows, separate from your private chats.

#Channel admin controls

Both apps let admins run channels. In Yapie, channel admins can choose whether subscribers may react, comment or post, so a news channel can stay clean while a community channel stays lively. See our guide to group admin permissions.
