How to Edit a Sent Message — and Restore an Earlier Version
Fix a typo after sending, see every earlier version, and switch back with one tap. How message editing and edit history work in Yapie, and how other apps compare.
Everyone sends a typo now and then — or regrets rewording a message. Yapie lets you fix messages and undo your fixes.
How to edit a message in Yapie
1. **Long-press** your message (right-click on desktop). 2. Tap **Edit**. 3. Change the text (or a photo's caption) and send. The message now shows edited next to the time, and everyone in the chat sees the new text.
See your edit history
Tap the **edited** label on your message (or long-press › **Info**). You'll see:- Current — what everyone sees now.
- Version 2, Version 3… — each earlier version with its time.
- Original — exactly what you first sent.
Only you can see this history. Other people just see that the message was edited.
Restore any version with one tap
Next to any earlier version, tap **Restore**. That version becomes the current text again. Nothing is lost — the text you replaced is added to the history, so you can switch back and forth as often as you like. How other apps compare
