How to Create a Channel and Grow Your Audience
Start a broadcast channel, choose a public link, decide whether subscribers can react or comment, and grow with Discover, hashtags and cross-promotion.
Channels are one-to-many: you post, unlimited subscribers read. They're ideal for news, businesses, schools, creators and communities.
Create a channel
1. Tap the **compose** button › **New channel**. 2. Enter a **name** and **description** that says what subscribers will get and how often. 3. Optional: set a **public link** (e.g. `@yourbrand`) so anyone can find and join. Leave it empty for a private, invite-only channel. 4. Tap **Create**.Choose how people interact
In the channel's admin settings: - **Reactions** — quick feedback without noise. - **Members can comment under posts** — discussion under each post. - **Sign posts with the author's name** — for teams. - **Restrict saving content** — for premium material.See the admin permissions guide.
Content that grows channels
1. **Be specific**: "Daily Lahore traffic updates at 8 am" beats "Updates". 2. **Post on a schedule** — use scheduled messages to stay consistent. 3. **Mix formats**: text, photos, short videos, polls. 4. **Pin a welcome post** explaining what to expect. 5. **Ask questions** with polls to learn what people want.Getting discovered
- Share highlights to **Discover** with relevant **#hashtags** — see [hashtags and topics](/blog/hashtags-topics-grow-reach). - Post your channel link on your other social accounts and website. - Partner with related channels for shout-outs. - Earn a **verification badge** so people trust it's really you.Earning
