Your caller tune

A caller tune is what the other person hears while their call to you connects — the same idea as a mobile network's caller tune, but free and changeable whenever you like.

Open Settings › Notifications & sounds › My caller tune and choose:

  • Sunrise piano, Lo-fi chai, Raag on sitar, Strings or Happy ukulele — original music made for Yapie, or
  • Use my own song — upload a short clip of any song (up to 4 MB).

Tap ▶ to listen before you choose. From then on, everyone who calls you hears it in their earpiece the moment they tap Call, until you answer.

Calls that connect on a weak signal

Not every call happens on fast Wi-Fi. Yapie's calls are built for crowded mobile networks:

  • No waiting before it rings. Connection details are kept on your phone, so a call starts at once instead of waiting on the network.
  • Rebuilt audio. Voice uses error correction that rebuilds small gaps from lost packets, and sends nothing during silence to save data.
  • A relay when needed. If a direct connection can't get through within a few seconds — strict Wi-Fi, carrier networks — the call moves to Yapie's relay automatically.
  • Voice first. On a poor link a video call lowers its quality, and if it has to, pauses the video so your voice stays clear. A small Weak signal badge tells you why. When the connection improves, the video comes back by itself.
